It's getting closer!

The invitation to Megan and Andrew's wedding arrived in the mail last week.  Wow!  It's gorgeous!  A picture doesn't do it justice.  The invitation itself was enclosed in a lace like cover, tied with a navy blue ribbon.  Simply elegant! Excitement is in the air!

 

Belated Big Birthday here!

July 3rd was a day our family celebrated life.  As you know, Chuck's mom passed away suddenly on June 30.  Due to travel schedules trying to get Billy home and family in from New Zealand, the funeral was planned for July 3rd ... Chuck's 50th birthday.  Needless to say, this is not the ideal way to celebrate your birthday.  But, it dawned on me in prayer ... we are celebrating life!  We are celebrating the life of Jo, Chuck's mom, who the good Lord chose to take from this life to another, better life.  In turn, we are celebrating the fifty years of my dear husband's life .. a life well lived with many more good years to come.  And to even complete the circle, Chuck found out the morning of July 3rd, that his boss's wife had just given birth to their first child!  God is awesome, isn't he?! So, please join us in celebrating life!

It's I Day!

It's Induction Day at the Naval Academy - the day that all incoming plebes report for their first day of Plebe Summer.  My thoughts and prayers are with all the new plebes and their families.  You are in for a great ride!   Congratulations to the USNA Class of 2013!

Eternal Rest

Joyce Poole 'Jo' Cunningham
May 20, 1957 ~ June 29, 2009.

It's a sad day time here in our family as we mourn the loss of Chuck's mom.  Please remember the repose of her soul and her family in your prayers.

Jo was preceded in death by her son William A. 'Chip' Cunningham three years ago.. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, William H. 'Bill' Cunningham (Pop), and her sons Gary E. Poole and Charles H. 'Chuck' Cunningham, and fifteen grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 2 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Northampton Presbyterian Church. The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 3 at 10 a.m. at Northampton Presbyterian Church followed by a graveside service at Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Hampton. Arrangements by Peninsula Funeral Home in Newport News.



In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Northampton Presbyterian Church (www.northamptonpres.com) or Hampton Ecumenical Lodging & Provisions (H.E.L.P.).

 
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord.
 And let perpetual light shine upon them her.
May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
