Life around here has been busy as we have tried to get back to our lessons and the kids activities have started up again. That combined with Billy going back to the Naval Academy and Jack's 11th birthday has also gotten me off track. So the Feast of the Epiphany arrived too quickly for me. We did our traditional house blessing and read books about the three kings visit. In the past years, I have always baked a Three Kings Cake. Somehow that did not seem like a good idea for this year what with leftover birthday cake and Christmas cookies still waiting to be eaten. So, I got original and improvised.
Homemade pizza was on the dinner menu tonight. Somewhere hidden under three of those many pepperonis was a melted marshmallow. You couldn't see them, but you could taste them! Whoever bit into one and discovered the sweetness of a marshmallow in their bite of pizza, becomes a king one of the next three nights for dinner. What does that mean? They get to choose the dinner menu for their "King Night". The kids loved it! Thank you Holy Spirit for the idea!
